Default Tasmania! What to see and do?

    Hi all,

We are going on a holiday soon to Tas. Northern end. I have been there before but only to help a relative move there so didn't see too much.

This time we will have 10 days there and I would like to see a few things.

DP wants to see a brewery? Does anyone have any recommendations?

Also we are going to travel to Hobart too, what things are there to see and do there?

And anything else that is great to see let me know

    Thanks so much!

Oh I would love to go to a nice restaurant with DP. A romantic one. Any suggestions?

With ten days you could have a great trip! It's a bit too long to spend up north though lol.

Definitely get to Tasmania zoo - they have an awesome dinosaur exhibit, it's near launceston.

Wine glass bay down south is stunning.

If I were you, I'd research tourist info and pick whether to drive down the east or west coast to Hobart rather than going straight down the middle.

We missed Hobart last time I went, however I've heard the Salamanca markets are great.

As for north end we loved Stanley! You can take a chair lift up a little mountain and do a bush walk not far from the caravan park, really beautiful. COLD and windy the day we went though lol.

Ha ha I agree about a big long for just the north part!

Good thinking about the roads to take. I am didn't that about that. I will google both roads. I would of just gone straight down the middle but ill have my big camera so a coastal trip sounds great

I'm so excited now and will google places to see but wanted some suggestions as I'd like it to be as fun as possible. So thanks for those!

Is there a chocolate factory down there? My poppa was a chocolatier and he owned his own chocolate factory but that was long before me. I would love to visit one.

Yeah there's a Cadbury factory somewhere near Hobart, I've never been there though.

cascade brewery in south hobart do tours but the cadbury factory don't anymore but you can still visit and go to the factory shop and buy seconds i think. Might need to check on that.

If you want a good chocolate visit, try Anvers in the north of the state. Cascade brewery and visitor centre in Hobart is a must do! Don't forget MONA I would recommend at least half a day spent there.

Cadburys used to be good but since they shut down the tours it's pretty much just a shop and you can watch a video. The shop has good prices but it costs $7.50 each to get in there.

Oh and restaurants - in Launceston there is Stillwater. In Hobart Me Wah or the Boathouse are lovely settings for a romantic night out.
