    Default Baby seems very small

I know this is a probably a stupid question and I know 'all babies are different' but my friend had a scan at 12 weeks and the crown to rump length was 10cm, I had mine at 12w5d and mine was 6.3cm. 4cm seems like a huge difference when they are that small. and at my 19 week scan the measurements all came up as 17 weeks and there was one at late 16 weeks.

    My dates are 100% accurate.

Can someone tell me this is normal?
    Thanks in advance.

There can be a 1-2 week difference between measurements and your edd. Was the dr concerned?

Lol so the dr didn't say anything? Honestly, I had a gap of at least 10 days between the measurements and what it should have been based on edd. No problems at all :-)

My bub was 5.5cm at 12 weeks, which technically put us at 11w5d but close enough. 10cm at 12 weeks is actually much longer than normal, are you sure your friend was talking about crown to rump length?

Yep my bub was around the 6cm mark at 12 weeks. At 19 weeks his body was spot on for dates but his head was 10 days ahead and his legs 7 days ahead. Later he measured perfect. If your dr didn't mention it I'm sure there's no cause for concern.

Wow! 10 cm at twelve wks!?

I just had my scan, I was just under 11 wks, 10+5 in fact, foetus measured 4cm. I predicted to the sonographer I was 10+5 and was actually right.

I just googled CRL crown rump length and both my measurements and your 6cm measurements, steph83, are normal for that gestation.

perhaps your mate is actually further than she thinks? Or read it incorrectly?

found a Wikipedia formula, I know wiki mightn't be accurate, but it totally makes sense.

Crown to rump length (cm) + 6.5 = gestational age weeks of pregnancy

I was just under 6.5cm which placed me at 12+6 even though my dates and my previous scan had me at 12+2. Babies can grow faster then what the norm is, I'd say that's more likely what has happened with your friend.

My bub is growing fine now, 2 months ago 500g, 1 month ago 1000g and last week 2000g at this rate she'll be born 8kg! I'm guessing it'll slow down towards the end.
