Default How hard is it to communicate!!! vent

I was originally booked in for an elective Ceaserian for this morning at the RBWH and cancelled it about 5 weeks ago to try for a VBAC (which was fully supported by the ob) . I have signed paperwork stating that he's happy for me to go ahead with trying. Three weeks ago I told them again, I'm not doing the elective but will go VBAC again.. Come Wednesday I get a call saying i HAVE to come in and see the anethetist on Thursday and I ask what for, and the lady says ''because you're booked in for the elective C''... um no i'm not, i cancelled it weeks ago! She insists to come in anyway, so I do, and I knew it would be a waste of time. I get there and ask why I need to see one and she says ''um, I don't know. (great answer!) Probably if you're obese or have a back problem'''... No i'm not fat/obese nor do I have a back problem.. so they get me to see her anyway. I repeat to about 5 different people I am NOT going ahead with the Elective.. they say ok, it's noted. Come Friday morning and another lady rings to ask me something about Monday's elective, AAARGH - I'M NOT HAVING IT!!!!. She rings me later in the arvo to ask me another question, and I repeat again i'm not having it, for gods sake, get it right!!! She apologises and says ok it's noted.

Come this morning and I get an abusive call from the hospital about ''WHY AREN'T YOU HERE FOR THE ELECTIVE?""... WTH? What is wrong with these people, how HARD is it to understand I had CANCELLED THE DARN THING WEEKS AND WEEKS AGO!

You poor thing. I think it's just poor admin. Qld health is notorious for the amount of different places you have to write something and book stuff in and it probably just didn't get crossed out somewhere, especially when it comes to trying coordinate different departments (obstetrics, anaesthetics, theatre in your case)

Please don't take it as a reflection on the doctors and midwives there, hope the VBAC goes well
