Default Work situation, what would you do.

Do you enjoy being home FT? If yes then ask. You can always go back mid year.

I do enjoy being home. However something inside me is telling me that the break might be good seeing that once DS starts to crawl and walk, ill be a lot more exhausted then I am now!! ATM he just 'sits there'
There is two sides and I cant vote for one!!
I guess the good thing is he will have grandma and not daycare for awhile (maybe once he is 2 yrs old)

I was in a similar position but we actually own the business so it was easy for me to keep changing my mind!

I thought I "should" go back to work for a few days when DS was 1 but I'm
So glad I did not, I have just started 2 days a week now ( he just turned 2)

The change in 12 months from a crawling 1 year old baby to a walking and talking 2 year old little boy was amazing and I'm so grateful I had the chance to stay at home with him and help/watch him develop , he is such an independent confident little boy now at 2 and I feel better leaving him for a few days a week to go to work ( my mum has him when I'm at work so i am very blessed)

So I say if you don't have to work , don't and stay at home with your son, it's such an amazing time in his life you will not want to miss it!

DS is 8 months, and I've just gone back to work two days a week. He is with DP for these two days, and will be starting at daycare in mid January. He'll be at home with Daddy and his sister for one day, and daycare for the other.
Going back to work felt like I was going 'home'. It was the right time for me, so the decision wasn't too hard. Good luck making yours - I'm sure it'll be the right one
