So today I got to thinking about the bit of inspiration that purple posted last week. It's so easy to get caught up in how far you have to go instead of how far you've come. So I'd like to encourage my fellow challengers and anyone who's following along at home that has taken measurements to grab out the measuring tape like I did today. Put it around your waist but not so that it fits, find your first measurement and see just how far you've come!
I was very pleasantly surprised! On Friday I took my jeans off without undoing them, I explained it away with the fact that they're "stretched out" even though those jeans were tight on me at the beginning of this challenge! There's no arguing with the tape measure, though, the difference is amazing.
What inspired me to do this, though, was that I got a bit overwhelmed when I weighed in yesterday at 79.4kgs. While I was excited to see the 70s again (since my brief experience in it last week!), it was a bit daunting. Instead of being soooo close to the next weight range, I'm suddenly 9kgs away and it feels impossible to get there, then I thought about the fact that when I reach the 60s, I've got another 10kgs to go to reachmy goal weight!
Finally, I pulled myself out of this line of thinking, grabbed out the tape measure and decided to focus on how far I've come. My next goal (and in fact, the goal I set for this entire challenge!) is less than 2kgs away, reaching 77.5kgs will put me in the overweight BMI category.
What's more important is that today I am wearing the jeans I bought on my last trip to Melbourne that were a size too small for me! I have two pairs of jeans that are two sizes smaller than this that I'm hoping I'll be able to fit into eventually!
So ladies, let's see how far we've come!
