My naturopath but DH on Paternal Plus (Metagenics) and a Blackmores multi. The Paternal Plus is high in zinc, folic acid and selenium. I also have him on Vit C and magnesium.

The Naturopath recommended avoiding all caffeine for both partners, and limiting DH to three standard alcoholic drinks a week - apparently alcohol causes body to lose zinc and zinc makes the lovely sperm!

I hope that helps! Good luck!

    Default Male sperm vitamins

My hubby took menevit 3 months before ttc, as suggested by our Gp. We fell within the first month of trying! Not sure if they helped or not- but definitely can't hurt!

    Default Male sperm vitamins

I just spoke with my doc today and apparently almost all fertility specialists will put ur DH on something similar to menevit as a first rule when TTC. Is can vastly improve the quality of their little swimmers. Which can also assist in reducing MC due to generic defaults etc

Hi, Im a Nutritionist [not promoting a business] just wanting to assist because Im paasionatte about people having healthy Kids-I had mine at 40 and did the following myself-so here goes:Both partners need an array of nutrients and although many supplements are fantastic-thats all they are, not "replacements". For amazing sperm [for those having problems]. diet needs to be adjusted as well, and unfortunately you wont hear that at most Doctors appointments. If you do your research though the evidence is quite clear on this. Alcohol for example strips zinc-which you need in spades for good sperm. Also Xenoestrogen loads [google it] affect the male [and female] hormone levels, [fertility has dropped by 50% in 30 years due to this problem-but it is fixable!-do your research] so they need o be removed. I always put men on Coq10 150-300mg for fast swimmers that dont tire easily. Plus L-Carnitine, vit C 500mg 2 x day, krill oil 1 with Dinner, and 1 zinc [not in a formula, but all by itself], last thing at night. These all increase numbers and quality. Tests now say that greater than 20 million is a "good" or "normal " result, but the acceptable limits ar coming down. You need to see numbers up around 50 mill + for a good chance. But its more about the quality of the sperm we are seeing-please have it graded and get them to explain the tests.Theres no point having 100 Million if 70% are non-motile or contain defects. Also important is a good antioxidant formula to preserve the DNA [when this is wonky there's an increase in abnormalities, therefore increasing miscarriages]. But if you can get him off Drinking, bad fats, increase organic fruit and veg + water consumption, you'll give yourselves the best chance. Oh and see a good Naturopath for a herbal remedy-they work very well. Tribulus in particular has great results. I personally have seen many couples get pregnanat when they both embrace a healthier lifestyle, even couples that have been told they'd never concieve [Ive accumulated 4 God children as a consequence!]

    DH was taking:

    Morning - 1 x fish oil, 1 x sperm max, 1 x meta b complex (metagenics), 1 x meta zinc, 1 x EPO

    Night - 1 x fish oil, 1 x meta zinc (metagenics), 2 x algotene, 1 x EPO

He doesn't drink anything with caffeine, never smoked and drinks maybe one alcoholic drink a month if that. Was drinking at least 2L of water every day and cut out **** (processed) food.

    We fell first try.

NutritionNat, thanks very much for your advice!
DH and I don't have any phytoestrogens or BPAs, we avoid caffeine completely, 95% of my food and 80% of his food is completely organic, he only has a max of three beers a week (I don't have anything), I follow a Paleo lifestyle, and we're both very active. DH was taking 120mg zinc & 75mcg selenium along with his multi & Vit C, and I've been taking a pre-natal multi with fish oil and magnesium, along with Vit C.

The naturopath practically guaranteed we'd fall pregnant first time, however I tested yesterday (11DPO) and got a BFN. Can you suggest anything else we can do to boost fertility? Should DH avoid alcohol completely? Thanks so much!
