Hahaha I can't believe this is a thread!
Did the school say they were going to order all the kids deep fried chips and a large coke? I mean seriously!
Yes the general 'maccas' is unhealthy but they are getting better especially with the kids meals.
It's like sending a child to a bday party and getting annoyed that there is junk food there among healthy stuff....
If you don't like it, don't send your child.... Simple stuff really

    Cheese?
    Which drink?
Ok, here you go Mary, go sit down with your roll. Ok, next kid, which bread?

Sorry, it was just a funny image
Haven't read the whole thread but our school does subway lunches twice a term (we don't have a canteen yet) and the parents fill out a form and the school preorders them

Yeah, how dare a parent start an interesting thread relating to kids on bubhub! What does OP think this is, an open forum where parenting concerns and topics can be discussed by a broad group of people?? Outrageous!

I'd be upset too. In my times, school would provide kids with a piece of bread, some ham, 1 tomato, a small packet of chips, water and 1 fruit. That was lunch. In a park. It was also fun and cheap.

ETA Maccas is so NOT a treat... its crap food that taste like it. A treat is a nice home made cake, a croissant or a brioche with chocolate.

Then fair game I say. But if it's meant to be edumacational, I can't figure out how going to a toy shop and Maccas fits in anywhere in the curriculum.

Omg haha I say edumacational allll the time

    Carry on..

I am also a teacher and ditto to that comment! We have subway orders two days a week at our school and to me that is a treat for them.
