I haven't proved I'm working to get child care rebate, but on the other hand everyone has to submit an income estimate so I think they must consider that proof
And if your tax return doesn't reflect paid work they may come looking for you come end of year.
My last quarter of my CCR is withheld until my tax return is lodged.
If my tax return didn't reflect paid work, I'd have gotten FTb all year which wojld be more than ccr... But yes I assume that is how they do it.
Not sure with study though.
Study they could ask you for documentation from your institution, enrolment papers etc.
Ah ok. When I was studying I was getting jet so had to show all kinds of docs. Wasn't sure what the situation might be for someone getting ccb and ccr only
My ex had his payments cut and has a debt now because they didnt listen to his situation and told him to fill out the wrong forms and then claimed he was cheating the system and getting payments when he shouldn't *rolls eyes*
A lady I know told centrelink her mum kicked her out just so she could get money..
I know someone who was claiming PPS whilst partnered for many years. She was claiming it from the first child and went on to have 3 more whilst with the same partner. They finally got caught and had to pay something like $50 000 back in the form of reduced (or no) FTB payments. Took a long long time for centrelink to do something about it though
There are exceptions with the child care rebate, some people are exempted from the working/training/studying criteria (depending on certain circumstances) and can therefore access the rebate.
