Default Young bub sleeping through night - ?milk supply.

My 8 week old DS2 has miraculously slept from 9pm til 6am the last two nights. (Amazing because my DS1 fed twice overnight til 11 months of age)! He's feeding 2-3 hourly during the day (6-7 feeds) and so far has gained weight like a champ.

My boobs have been rock hard and really painful in the morning. I'm worried if he continues to sleep so much overnight that my milk supply will be affected. Some websites suggest waking to pump overnight if your baby sleeps through at this age! This seems insane to me and I hope it's not necessary.

Does anyone know if this will adversely affect my supply? Or did this happen to you?

P.S. if it matters, I generally tend to have over supply of milk and successfully fed DS1 til 13 months.

Default Young bub sleeping through night - ?milk supply.

DD slept through from 8 weeks and my supply was never affected. She fed 2-3 hourly during the day and once in a blue moon would wake for a night feed. They always seemed to respond accordingly and providing I kept up my water intake this went along pretty smoothly.

DS often slept right through from birth. At the start I set my alarm to feed after 6hrs sleep, but then just let him go. I had ample milk supply, and him sleeping right through didn't affect that, but I did wake up in a bit of pain in the morninings. He started waking frequently at around 3.5 months, so I was feeding up to every 1-2 hours overnight and my supply just picked up as it was needed.

Just updating for any future readers with the same question. Miraculously bub is still sleeping through the night a month on, and my milk supply is absolutely fine. Thanks for the replies!

Hahaha well lower his expectations by telling him my first bub didn't sleep through till 11 months old, and I did nothing different! It's up to the baby I reckon.
