    Default DS? Ipod Touch or....

We dont have internet enabled on DD1's ipod touch.
When we get her new games we do it on our iphones then synch them on the laptop so she gets them too.

I dont want her to be able to buy games or music etc without us knowing and approving it first

The apps are password protected so they cant dowload them without it. But Im pretty sure they can just access the net....Might be able to password that too???

We don't have the Internet on DS's iPod.

We download the games on iTunes on the computer, than just sync the device.

You don't need the Internet ON the device.

You can disable the Internet etc on iPods, iPhones and iPads using the restrictions tab in general settings.

...But you don't even need to have the Internet on them at all. You can buy them without Internet access...

We chose iPods because apps can be free or we choose games of minimal costs. Both our DDs iPods are on the same iTunes account as our iPhones so whatever you buy 1 they all can sync to.
No lost expensive games like DSs.
I also really like the educational games my children can play and the fact I can hire movies for treat for my children.

    Default answer

i have both in my house but i find the ipod touch is the first thing my 5 and 8year old go for different reason my 8yr old daughter loves to download lots of girls apps n my boy loves the freedom of choice of apps so i suggest the ipod touch as a mum of 4children even my 2 n 3yr old play games on the ipod touch great investment.

not an iPod touch. Normal iPods yes. But the touch is almost an iPhone, without the phone iykwim?

DD has one. Easiest solution for us is that she doesn't know her password. All games etc are downloaded by me. She can browse and choose them, I have control.

My girlfriend bought DS for her girls (7 and 5) and they are always playing on her iPhone. My 5 year old has a iPod touch which I keep in "airplane mode" so there is no chance of downloading anything. Best invention ever! He loves reading books, tracing letters, playing games and watching videos and his personal favorite is recording himself saying funny things and playing them back!

DS is more sturdy and less likely to have the screen shatter.
Do any of your relatives/friends kinds have a DS? your kids could trade games to save cash. Buy games second hand on eBay etc.
