    Default DS? Ipod Touch or....

DD is 7 and DS1 nearly 5 and I'm wanting to get them something for Christmas but am unsure whether they'd be better off with a DS or an Ipod touch. DH has an iphone and I have an ipad and the kids like the games, but I really don't know.
    Help?!

We have both and I think my older boys likes the ipod better and my nearly 3 year old likes the DS better. Plus on the ipods you can dowload more games for free as much as you like.

I think ipod - my dd (5) has both and hardly uses ds.
Like pp said you can update ipod with new games/apps, whereas ds you have to buy them and i think my dd has lost some games over the years.

I have no experience with a DS, but DS1 (that's confusing ) has an iPod Touch and it's great. All the games are loaded onto it, it's nice and compact and the games/books are cheap (usually under $3, but many are free as well), plus excellent quality. He has a sturdy case to protect it.

My 4year old has a DS and loves it. He gets bored of the apps on my phone easily but not with his games on his DS. We get cheap games from cash converters.

This is going to be a stupid question, but can you have an iPod touch that isn't connected to the internet? I'm not very technological!

I do think DS1 would like a DS, but I'm reluctant about having to buy the games and then they might get lost etc...

I sort of just give it to DH and say "make it do stuff". Maybe two DS's are the way to go.
