All those that are saying there are plenty of jobs if u really want to work yada yada need to remember that it can take time to find work, even if ur applying for anything going

Ask yourself - would you really be able to live off $250 a week for a month or 2 or 3 until u found employment? That wouldnt even cover rent!

Its not always as easy as click ur fingers and u have a job!

Bus or gas vouchers, clothing vouchers allow people to get some clothes for interviews and allow them bus tickets or gas vouchers so much a month. Could work

Local town bus runs 9,10,11 am and 1,2,3,4 pm ...
Once you have been on unemployment for so long your job network will provide you with clothing for interviews etc

I was lucky that rent was cheap and I was vegetarian,

I recieved $460 a fortnight, 260 of that went in rent,

Now even a 1 br flat is 200 a week.

I really detest people who are working 2,3 or more jobs *****ing about people without one
Perhaps if you only had ONE job or gave one of yours to someone without work there would be less unemployment

So what is more important than making sure peoples kids don‘t starve? Cause it affects mothers as well, as the article pointed out.

And honestly, i think you are trying to make it sound like everyone is a dole bludger cause they cbf working. Lol.

Atm, i would be better, financially, if I was on centerlink while im studying, if i had to choose my job or clink. So i actually need clink to help me live, so i can study, so i can get a higher paying job and pay more taxes, so there‘s more money going into the public purse.

I WANT to work. Buggered if im staying in a dead end job my entire life though.

Eta: I agree with Kirby Star about the people with 2+ jobs.

And also, i seem to have accidentally thanked myself.

Its really irrelevant anyway. Even if u only spent $110 a week on food the just over 100 bucks u have left aint gonna cover rent, petrol / transport, utilities and all the other expenses etc is it?

Sure thing you want to scrape animal guts off the floor a few hours a day in freezing building let me know they are hiring $19 an hour. Someone want that job let me know they are always hiring, they even have jobs in Brisbane.

So now its hard working people's fault there are no jobs? Do you really believe that?

It should be raised. Because there are so many honest people who get stuck at times and need assistance.

But I don't agree with that sentence. I have applied for over 200 jobs in the last year. I haven't been able to land one. I have never ever had an issue finding work in the past but this year has been a nightmare. I am incredibly business minded, with an education and extensive knowledge in my area however I just can't get that position, I always seem to come second or third. I would LOVE a job.

I don't get new start or any of that and we live on DPs wage.

Default Push to increase inadequate dole rejected.

How about instead of implementing some ridiculously expensive government scheme giving free bus tickets and clothing vouchers to those on the dole, we just, I don't know, give them a bit more money so they can buy their own...??

I believe its a combination of people having more jobs than they need, thus they DO take jobs from other people, like it or not. If you‘re working a job, it means someone else isnt, and employers knowing how hard it is to find work, etc, so they can treat their staff as horrendously as they like, along with underpaying them, failing to providr safe work places, etc etc.

Default Push to increase inadequate dole rejected.

My old cleaning company is looking for workers in areas all around brisbane $22 an hour - paid training provided - training is 8-5 for 7 days but after that you pick your own hours which can be in school times. I did this for years until I could get back into my field of expertise (accounting).

They provide clients you just have to nut it out with them. Anyone interested can let me know and I will send you there details. No qualifications are required and even if you do have qualifications (like I do) they still hire.
