Default What age did u start......

Toilet training your toddler? Would like to hear any experiences.

DD is just 2 and was thinking of trying in the new year as the weather is nice and warm so she can just run around in knickers

Ive been reading lots about it and seems experts suggest around 2 1/2 - 3 is the best age as they have better bladder control thus TT is quicker.

Not sure if im starting too early even tho she is showing other signs of readiness.

DD#1 was just over 3yrs. I did try when she was about 2.5yrs with no success so I gave it up for a while.

Then when my twins came along I decided to try early and see what happens. DD#3 seemed more ready so I tried her first and she was only 17mths. She was day toilet trained really quick and down to no accidents at all within a week! And that included walking (with them in the pram) to pick up DD#1 from school which was about a 30min walk each way. She also refused to go to the toilet away from home for a while there even if I had been shopping all day which was a worry but no problems with her bladder control. LOL

DD#2 was 22mths when I toilet trained her and it was quick with her too.

Were they trained at night too or did that take a little longer?

Just started DD a month ago and was amazed at how quick she picked it up. First day she was taking herself off to the toilet without prompting. She is 29 months. Only started cos of the warm weather I don't think I woulda started any earlier. The more they understand the easier it is going to be for you.

My daughter wasn't ready until after her 3rd birthday.

My son refused to wear a nappy one day at 26 months. He never has accidents now just over two months later.

My DD is 32 months and is now trained in the day after only 4 accidents over a week. Easier than I thought!

Tried when he was about 26 months as he was showing interest. Fail. Again at around 30 months for same reason. Double fail. He is now talking about it again but will wait till closer to his 3rd b'day in Feb as i'm due with #2 in a week and I just think its a bad time to try again.

We have been trying to toilet train DS1 for just over a year. Took 8 attempts. But he seems to have finally got it.
Before he would get to a point of total distress. That we had to stop and try again later.
Now he tells us when he needs to go.

DS1, at about 2. I just put him in undies after his morning poo and then when ever he peed id say quick on the potty (set up on the floor on a towel) and he'd go and sit on it,after a while he stopped peeing on the floor and went to his potty, transition to the toilet about 6mths later with the toilet step was easy.

DS2, im doing the same sort of thing now, he is 18mths. He is a bit young yet. He pees on the floor and if i say quick potty, he sits on it for about 2sec then runs away. He tells me with grunting and hand signals if he wants his pants off for his 'poppop' but he is yet to pee in the potty .
