Default DTD is is really necessary to hold off?

So is it really needed to not have sex multiple times a day? Do sperm really need time to recharge it makes sense but I dont want to not have sex if I dont have too.

Not in relation to sperm, but my FIL who has prostate problems said his doctor told him regular sex or masturbation helps prevent prostate problems later in life, just a little interesting fact lol

From an IVF perspective men are asked to abstain for 36-48 hours to obtain an optimum sperm sample.

From what I've read it's best to just have sex once everyday or every 2nd day :-)

Ive also heard sex only once a day to every second day. Anything over 7 days without release is not nice for sperm. They do need to stay flushed out and "healthy".

That said, We were mucking around in our first month of ttc and DH told me he would be serious next month and only do it every second day during my O time.

We did it twice a day, 2 days in a row (early morning and approx after lunch so 8ish hours between) and bang. UTD.
