    Default Having wisdom teeth out?

I had 8 teeth removed under GA before getting braces including my 4 wisdom teeth. I hard some aching but didn't even take the pain killers. I think part of the reason I didn't have much pain is because the surgeon was so good and gentle on my mouth.

ETA: all 4 of mine were impacted.

I got all 4 out in the chair but did 2 at a time. In my opinion, being awake for it was better then being put under. The dentist was pretty gentle and I had next to no swelling and didn't even take the prescription pain killers, just Panadol for about 2 days. Good luck!

I had all four out under ga. To be honest I was so scared after all the horror stories ppl told me but it was nothing! I woke up pain free! I was groggy for a week from the ga but had absolutely no pain (they give u this cool head ice bandage and pain relief anyway!!) you'll b fine!!! Good luck

I had all 4 out under a GA. I was really scared going in, and had to have something to calm me down before the GA. It felt like no time had passed at all (though it took 1.5hrs). The pain afterwards was bad for me, but all 4 of mine were impacted and the surgeon had to cut bone, so my bruising and swelling was bad too. Once the pain was under control, i was fine. Keep up with pain medication....and try not to swallow your blood as it will make you vomit. The dentist will probably give you an antibacterial mouthwash to use afterwards too. The good thing about having the GA is that you don't know how they get them out, and it is over so fast for you, much less stress! Good luck

Thanks for asking baby4us, I had to cancel my op as unfortunately I've had a gastro type bug since last Friday and have been in and out of hospital of drips to try and stay hydrated. Finally on the mend now after 6 days of vomiting
