    Default Sciatica....

I've got sciatic symptoms and yesterday, I wasn't even able to weight bear on my left leg. I was wondering if anyone has had sciatica during pregnancy and how did you alleviate such symptoms?

Yes, terribly. I had a lot of chiropractic appointments, stretching, heat pack and massage.

I also had sciatica pain. Started at 14 weeks right when my morning sickness eased. My lovely gp told me tough it is going to get worse! So I suffered in pain for most of my pregnancy until dh had enough and made me go to physio. Turned out I had issues with my sacroiliac joint also which was making the sciatica worse. After one visit it was so much better. Ended up with a support belt to wear to help too.

so I highly recommend a visit to a physio.

    Default Re: Sciatica....

My midwife gave me a belt to wear to support my back/stomach. It helped a little but it only got better once baby moved up (later in pregnancy when my belly got bigger). It still is there sometimes but not as bad as before. I was getting it so badly I had to sit/lie down and couldn't walk for awhile. Very frustrating!! Good luck!
