    Default Building for investment property

We are about to get our first home loan with first home buyers as our investment property.

Can anyone give us some tips. We will be renting this home out in 6 months and hope to make equity and I know the market is crap atm but I don't know optimistic it will grow in the years to come. We are getting our loan in 3 months so have plenty of time to research, and add more to savings!

    Thanks ladies and gents!

I would recommend renting the house out to Dha. They deal with everything! And you are guaranteed what rent you want, within reason. I know this isn't really answering your question, but it is good to keep in mind. They will deal with all maintenance etc etc, and will ensure the house is kept in good condition. They also pay to have it professionally cleaned when one family moves out and the next move in. Dha are always screaming for more houses

Where is the home? We're currently building in Townsville and the DHA option wasn't viable for us. They take 15% as management fee and you have to have certain specs on the house. For us it's not worth that when all it does is guarantee you rental income. The way TVL is at the moment we aren't at all concerned about not getting tenants.
Just really look into it all

Sorry I didn't reply earlier... If you go to www.dha.gov.au it will have information about renting out to them
