    Default Obtaining medical reports

    Hello
I need to get my medical reports from my local GP.
Do I just send a self-stamped envelope and request them?

or is there a cost, and more involved?

    Thank you

    Default Obtaining medical reports

From my private hospital I had to pay "photocopying costs" of either 1 or 2 hundred dollars. Can't remember now sorry. Had to go in and fill out a form.

It was free from my GP. They faxed them to a number I provided (private midwife) no problems at all. BUT I think it depends entirely on the surgery, how easy they make it for you!

I recently got mine from a local hospital and I had to fill out a form stating why I wanted them, exactly what I wanted, and it had to be signed off by someone in charge before I could get them. It then took 45 days to actually get them!

It may be different from a GP though?

You will need to ask the practise to see what their policy is. The records are actually the property of the practise so they can charge.
