    Tagliatelle with tuna:

    * 200g dried egg tagliatelle (I just used wholemeal macaroni lol)
    * 400g canned tuna in oil
    * 1 bunch spring onions, sliced (I just used red onions....whatever is on hand)
    * 175g frozen peas
    * 2 tsp hot chilli sauce (sweet chilli for me!)
    * 600ml hot chicken stock
    * 115g grated Cheddar cheese (only Colby in this house)
    * salt and pepper

    You basically throw everything in except for the chilli sauce, stock and cheese. Stock and sauce gets poured over 2nd to last, then the cheese is last.

    Cook on low for 2 hours (or until pasta is done).

    Subbing! I was given a skew choker and so far have used it once to make a stew... Dismal effort!

    ETA lol obviously I meant to say "slow cooker" darn Swype text!

    I usually put in a whole chicken or a beef or pork roast and throw in some potatoes, carrots and onions cut up and season with garlic salt and all seasons salt let cook all day.

    Of I cook up some ground beef, or cut up chicken breast and throw that in with chili beans, chili seasoning, onions cut up, and kidney beans, and bell peppers and cook that all day for some good chili.

    Default Using a slow cooker in summer

    Slow cooker salsa chicken
    Serves 4

    2 x chicken breasts, cut into chunks
    1 x pkt taco seasoning
    1 x jar of salsa
    1/2 cup sour cream

    Place the chicken, salsa & taco seasoning in the slow cooker & stir to combine. Cook for 4-6hrs on low. Stir through the sour cream & serve with salad & crusty bread in summer, or rice/mash & veg in winter.

    This one is a family fave!

    Ive had a slow cooker for about 2 months now but have only used it a few times.

    Is it just me or does the slow cooker seem to zap the flavour out of recipes? Or am i doing something wrong?

    I made beef stroganoff in it for example, exactly the same way i usually do and its so yummy but in the slow cooker it came out really bland

    Ive even tried frying the meat and onion beforehand?

    I do roast lamb in SC. Water to cover lamb with 1/2 cup soya sauce & tablespoon minced garlic.
    I think the original recipe said chopped onions too but I never do the onions anymore. Gives the outside of the meat a great flavour & yum leftovers

    I think because the slow cooker cooks so slowly, it draws out more moisture than stove top cooking does...therefore it dilutes the "usual" flavour. I think this is why slow cookers have specific recipes and you can't just do it the same way as you would on the stove. Well, that's my guess anyway haha.

    With roast meat I chuck it in the oven on high for 15 minutes at the end to get the crispy outside. Tender meat inside, crispy outside, yummy
