Default Using a slow cooker in summer

I'm just wondering whether anyone else has some good ideas for using the slow cooker in summer?

I often use it to cook a whole chicken to serve with salad and chips or wraps, but maybe some of you ladies are more creative than me?

How would you slow cook chicken roast in there? I made a gorgeous chicken roast in the oven last night but slow cooker sounds good!

My mom bought me a slow cooker recipe book! I made something the other night from there that turned out to be great served cold as left overs. Was just a tuna/pasta/cheese/peas thing. Delicious and easy! I'll give you the recipe if you'd like...

    Sounds good captainscaptain!

LifeInShadesOfGrey, I scrunch foil balls under the chicken so it doesn't sit in the fat or juice, stick some garlic cloves, lemon quarters and rosemary sprigs around it and leave it on low for 8 hours. Sometimes I even stick the chicken in frozen. It doesn't have the same crispy skin as an oven baked chicken but the meat is beautiful and tender, it requires nothing more than 5 mins of work on my part and if I leave the slow cooker in the laundry it doesn't heat up the house on hot days!
