Restless legs for me is when my leg kind of spasms, its just uncomfortable and irritating, but I wouldn't say it actually hurts. Leg cramps on the other hand are really painful, in a 'its hard not to scream and sob like a 3yo' way. Kinda like someone stabs your leg with a frozen knitting needle .

Out of the two I'd pick restless legs anyday

    Hey mothers milk

So as a huge sufferer of restless legs while pregnant and I have had quite a few cramps in my legs this pregnancy I have done a lot of research.

The causes of leg cramps are intense exercise, muscle tiredness (fatigue), heavy weight and medications. The cause of restless leg syndrome can be any number of medical issues (diseases and/or disabilities) such as anemia, kidney failure, pregnancy and medications.

Leg cramps are of short duration (one to several minutes) with sharp, short bursts of pain and contraction of the muscle (in the calf, hamstring and quadriceps). Restless leg syndrome can last for several hours and can occur a few times a week or each night. It consists of a "creepy-crawly," burning or tugging sensation deep within the legs. Patients may find relief by pacing the floors at night. Many patients find this is the only relief.

Leg cramps can be treated simply, by drinking plenty of water and stretching the leg muscles before exercising. When a leg cramp occurs, the best and most common treatment is massaging and stretching the muscle. Restless leg syndrome is a bit more complicated to treat. Usually finding an underlying disorder (anemia, diabetes), reducing or removing food(s) or beverages (caffeine, alcohol) and administering medication are the best ways to treat restless leg syndrome.

I would take the leg cramps over restless legs any day!

lol really? I'm the complete opposite Cramps are soooooo painful, but restless legs I just take a bath and get some sleep (of course it might not be as simple for everyone).

I like your description of a 'creepy-crawly' feeling tho, that's pretty accurate.

Lol! I've always suffered from it in all 3 pregnancies and once for a few months while I wasn't pregnant.
I tried everything to get rid of it but it would Never leave! I had baths but that was to kill time at 1am! I would be up from 12-1am till 5am every night. hence why I would take a leg cramp every night
