This is my first time posting and your thread describes part of my journey trying to conceive. I've been with my husband for 9 years (both 29 years old) and we started ttc 3 years ago.

We've had all the tests done with no abnormalities or problems... So we consulted a specialist. Fast forward to last month where I had a LAP to check the plumbing worked, and again no issues.

So our doc started us on IUI this month. I had my first insemination on Monday after a week of gonal f injections (ouch!) and then the ovadril trigger on Sunday. And so begins the long wait.

I just want you to know that ready your posts are a great inspiration to me, and I really appreciate your honesty and views on this delicate subject.

    Welcome!

Congrats on the commencement of your first iui! The first is always the best and worst as your learning everything from I jettisons to emotions to acronyms lol

We have a great little group here and I wouldn't get through my day without these girls :-)

It's great cause you can let everything out and we won't think your crazy!! We have all been there lol

    I did 3 IUDI - all unsuccessful.
Just finished my first ICSI - got my BFP however on Mondays levels were 24. Devastated. AF is now one week over due. I'm calling clinic tomorrow to see if I can get another BT done.

    X

taking way too long- hi!!! welcome. happy to have you here. another set of ears ( or should i say eyes) and another set of experiences is always great to have around.

gdy- how u doin hun? been thinking about u heaps. not sure how long it takes for your period to show up. i got mine pretty much around normal time when i had the chemical pregnancy but that wasnt after ivf.

one thing i will warn you about is what your period is like. mine was really heavy after the chemical preg. they also dont tell you but after my failed ivf it was horrible. i thought there was something wrong with me- it was black and lumpy. i asked my nurse and she said it was all the drugs. just a heads up so u dont freak out if it happens to you.

    keep well girls!

    Thanks ladies!

I'm still getting used to the acronyms and lingo so if I stuff it up you know why!

I'm not really sure how I feel after my first IUI, I'd like to think I'm being positive but it's hard not to be realistic and expect it to fail.. It doesn't help that I've been doing the majority of tests and procedures by myself, as my husband is away at sea. But I'm lucky to have very supportive friends and family!

I'm the worlds most impatient person, so this waiting and waiting is killing me! The temptation to do a home test is high.. But I know I probably won't see results.

I don't know anyone else going through this, so this forum is extremely helpful to me! The last 3 years have been a roller coaster of emotions, from breaking down every time one of my friends falls pregnant easily, to wanting to give up completely!

That would be hard. What does your husband do?

    When can you test?

I totally understand. But just keep thinking that when that BFP happens you will forget everything and will be so excited and it will be all worth it!! :-)

So CD05 - start FSH injections tonight. Not using them for stimulation. If I don't have the injections I will either ovulate super late or not at all. So I need it to keep my body on a regular cycle. Lol so I have scan n bloods on Friday.

I go on leave on Friday so hopefully we know when FET will be. Cause we are driving to melbourne on Friday and meant to be driving to QLD following Thursday lol

So I might have to cut one trip short... :S

Wow! Good luck with the injections, hopefully you do cut your trip short ill have my fingers and toes crossed for you !!

We're both defence, but he lives in cairns at the moment, and moves home in 44 days.. But who's counting!

I had my blood test this morning, to test my progesterone levels, and they rang saying that I definitely ovulated.. But not much else. So I'm hoping that's a positive sign! And I have my preg test next week...

It's weird but I feel like I don't have any thoughts or feelings about the procedure, maybe due to the last 3 years of disappointments. Of course I'm positive, but maybe I'm mentally preparing myself for either way it goes..
