well i found the whole iui process to be ok. the most difficult thing i found was the unpredictablilty of doctors appointments etc. it was hard to juggle work commitments , my two year old son and all the appointments.
i went in for my first blood test on day 13. we were a bit late this cycle because i didnt see my doctor until day nine. he put me on clomid a bit late in the cycle but he thought it would be ok based on a scan he did on day 9. i saw my doc again on day 14 and he said my levels were peaking- meaning ovulation was soon. he gave me a trigger injection on day 14 and did a scan. he saw two follicles of a good size ready to go. he said day 15 would be iui day. my husband had to create a sample and we drove it to the lab to be washed and prepared. then we took it back to my doc and he did the iui.
it pretty much just feels like a papsmear- if you have no problems with those i am sure you will be right. i have a two year old son so i think my cervix is a bit easier to get through. do you have any other children or will this be your first?
the actual iui part is over so quickly and you sort of think "is that it?". dont stress. i am sure you will do fine. it feels great to know you are trying something different this month and it might just work!
are you doing fertility meds as well as iui?
all the best! let me know how you go!
