    Hi ladies,

well what a huge month! I survived my first cycle of Ivf. Was problematic from the start. I wasn't responding well to gonal f after four or five days so upped my dose.cetritide give me hives after every injection for a we hours but I was told to stay on it anyway. Scan only showed four follies so upped my dose again and delayed the egg pick up. At my final scan I had eight follies but they only retrieved five eggs. The day after pick up my fs rang and said he had bad news. Only one egg fertilised. Apparently my husbands sperm stopped swimming early. They should have done icsi but they didn't know that until it was too late. So one fertilised egg put back two days early (on day three). Got to theatre and they said it was showing signs of stress. Put it back in anyway. Two days ago I started to spot. Rang nurse yesterday and she said to keep up crinon just in case and refused to preg test me any earlier than Monday. Bleeding like a period today so I am sure it is all over and hpt was negative of course. So there you go.....a really crappy month ( and a very expensive month) .

Next time we go for Ivf they will do huge doses from the start and use icsi to fertilise my eggs. Should be much more effective next time. Can't help but feel kind of ripped off by my clinic... It was a very expensive "trial". I know every individual is different and it is not an exact science but still makes you cranky.

Anyway, i am going out for a movie tonight with my bestie so I am sure I will feel better after that.

rainbow- so happy that it has all worked out for you. You give me lots of hope for my next round.

gdy- keep me posted as you progress through all the many stages. I wish you the very best of luck and will keep everything crossed for you.

twocam- what are u up to?

    keep well everyone.

    Katelyn xx

    Oh katelyn, how disappointing.

Next time definitely opt for icsi. What does cetrotide do?

I had way more follies than eggs (19+ good sized follies, 11 eggs), I think some are hard to access and some probably just get re absorbed beforehand.

Will they up your gonal dose?

    Hey ladies :-)

Katelyn I'm so sorry your first month of IVF didn't go to plan. The only way you can look at it is to look forward and hope that month two will be so much better cause they know how you body reacts to everything. And definitely ICSI.

I did my first Lucrin injection last night - that was an ordeal and a half! First time ever giving myself a syringe injection :S

We are doing ICSI as well! So ill let you know how it goes.

Did you do injections with your IUI's? Or is this your first cycle with injections?

    Good luck! Stay positive!

    xx

Well I'm still jabbing away. Doing Lucrin and FSH now each night. My tummy starting to look like I've been bashed. Lol

I have blood test on Friday

    Scan n bloods on Monday

    Possible egg retrieval next week!

So excited but nervous!! I just want a scan to see my follies growing!!

I've got the headaches and sick tummy. Get really flushed and hot. (Not cool) so that's fun at work! Cramping abit when doing exercise so I am just walking now.

    Hope your all well!!

How are you finding the injections? I sure don't miss those needles!

Word of advice - don't be disappointed if they don't collect as many eggs as you expect based on your follie count. It's quality not quantity that counts. They saw 19 follies but got 11 eggs from me. I was SO disappointed which was silly of me.
