Default Need to take another day off work? need advice..

I work Mon, Tue and Wed this week (teaching) but my mother usually babysits on Wednesday so I can work (I'm on contract) but she's on holiday this week so without a babysitter I fessed up at work and explained I can't work has have no childcare or afterschool care available that day.

okay so feel a bit bad about that but hey ho...

but I noticed my middle child (my 5 year old daughter) developed what I think is slap cheek (fifth disease) - I haven't taken her to the dr yet but it looks a lot like it (seen heaps of kids with it at school where I work). I'll see how she looks Monday morning but I might have to take Monday and possible Tuesday off if she has it as they won't let her back at Kindy if they know.

Do I drop her at kindy and hope nobody will notice (it's gone from her face now but I notice it's on her arms and across her chest but not strong enough you'd notice right away) as I read you're only contagious BEFORE the rash appears - so she's not contagious any more but my kindy is super fussy about that stuff. My two year old is showing no signs so might be okay to go.. either way so annoyed! this would typically happen when I already have to take a day off work!

and to make it worse the year level I'm teaching Monday, everybody knows I can't stand as they are really badly behaved - so it will make it definitely look like I'm dodging the bad year level!

    what to do?

If you take your DD to the gp, you can get a medical cerificate. That should be sufficient evidence you weren't avoiding the bad year level.
Unfortunately these things happen. Any working parent will most likely have to take time off at some point do to an illness their child is suffering from.

Hi.. When my daughter had slapped cheek her gp told me there was no exclusion required. This was confirmed by her day care at the time.

If you need a day/s off, not a lot work can do about it. Call in sick, get a medical cert and hopefully everything will be ok.

Meh who cares what they think you have to take care of your babies but from what I hear in this thread sounds like your kiddos can go anyway, but dont feel you need to go to work because of what people might think.
