    Default Bottle teats, need suggestions/recommendations

    Hi,

DS is 6 weeks and we use Medela's bottles to feed him EBM as well as formula. We notice he takes a long time to finish his milk, at least we think its a bit long...eg 20 mins for 120ml. Is that long? We feel like we are feeding him for very long time.

The bottles are narrow necked and we use narrow teats which we bought from hospital since he was born. We are wondering if we needed to upgrade the size.

Does anyone of you have any recommendation the brand and size for a 6 week old? Or are we just wrong that he's taking too long to drink?

I used wide neck pigeon teats and they are really good. Apparently they mimic a nipple so there is no confusion. These were suggested to us by the hospital when our DD was born. Good thing is the pigeon teats also fit Avent bottles which I had already bought.

Seems right to me too, but if you think it's too long try the next level teat on one bottle and see if that helps and doesn't give him wind or the flow isnt too fast for him.

I bought a set of soft silicone teats Pigeon brand from Chemist Warehouse. It says babies should take max 15 mins to finish drink. The ones I bought are variable flow (Ycut) and really good. Its meant for 6-7 months! However he still takes about 15-20 mins and almost always leaves a bit left not wanting to finish it. He is almost 2 months old taking only 120ml each 3hrly. I guess it's just my bub.
