    I have never heard of Etta but I love it. I do like matilda but only because of the nickname millie. What does Etta mean and where does it originate?

    I think Etta was short for Henrietta, back in the day. I like it. I know too many Violets and Matilda's/Tilly's. I always have to think when writing violet because it is so close to violent - silly I know

    I like both Etta and Violet, but I think Etta is a very special indeed- classic simplicity.

    Matlida and Violet get my vote. Both gorgeous names. I'm not a fan of Etta.
