Default Wish it was a dream...

I had to give birth to my baby girl last night, at 26 weeks.

For a week until the end of week 23 I was feeling movements then it stopped on October 26th. November 2nd I decided that I wanted to check up coz surely that shouldn't be right, 2 weeks of nothing?!

Came into hospital and had baby's heartbeat monitored and came up all normal. That is after forever trying to actually find it! It seems baby had moved into the back seat rather than up front..

2 weeks passed and still no movements so decided to go back in for another monitor check. This midwife found a beat around 150 but it took even longer to find and she only found it for a very very short time... We knew no different so were satisfied with that...and off we went home...

I decided to call my ob to let him know what was going on. Next appointment was not meant to be until November 30. He said that it sounded as thought things were all fine but to come in and get things checked on.

Went in on Tuesday and it was all confirmed then! No heartbeat and head was odd shaped which is an indication that baby isn't alive and growing..

Admitted yesterday. Test after test after test and then they started to bring on my delivery. Delivered baby Skye at 8.25pm 21/11/2012.

Cause of death is still unknown but the umbilical cord looked beaded and twisted rather that a smooth like type tube... Further tests and autopsy to be done so hopefully find out more then but they do think that she was alive up until 23 weeks and that the second monitoring was actually not accurate! :-(

Finding it quite difficult right now obviously, but am so thankful that I have such a supportive husband and family...

Thanks for reading. I just wanted to get all of that out...
