    Default Torture Porn?

Horror on tv is always the worst. Even thrillers. They'll edit out quite vital scenes to make it able to be broadcast even if it leaving gaping plot holes as a result. I never really ynderstood why he went to jail in American History X as a result... Because I first saw it on tv. Lol.

Personally, I think the worst horror/torture movies aren't the blood and gore type. They're the Japanese mind ***** ones. They scare the bajeebus out of me.
    And I LOVE them. Hehehe.

I find films that are based on real life...like based on things that could have happened or have actually happened worse than most horror films. Like there's this movie called "Beloved", it has Oprah Winfrey in it and there is a lot of stuff in it that actually used to happen to black people in the slave era that really affected me. Although it was make believe, I do know that that time of stuff used to happen. Same with anything about WWII and the genocide and all that...affect me more. Like the boy in the striped pyjamas and there was this mini series when I was a teen called "For those I loved" which was a particularly graphic series about the haulocaust - but it was educational at the same time.

I watched Jaws as a child and had nightmares - not about a fake mechanical shark that goes around killing people but I had a dream that I got the bense (sp?) because that actuallly freaked me out more than the fake shark...because it's something that actually happens to people

Some people do have this ability to separate fiction from non-fiction, I'm one of them....to a point. Others can't. That's because we are all different and have different temperments and thought processes.

I have never had any desire to watch human centipede though...fiction or not - it's rather a revolting thought - so I'd rather not go there LOL

Whoever said banning movies makes them more appealing is correct. Some movies I have seen just to see if they're bad enough to be worthy of banning. A Serbian Film is one. It actually could be appropriately labelled torture porn and nobody would disagree. The whole storyline is a man having lots of gruesome sex and such. It's quite revolting in its loose plot and also in the actual images... There is a particularly disturbing scene that I'm fairly certain most people here would find horrific and revolting.

Apparently it's symbolic or some such nonsense.

Anyone who thinks human centipede or saw is as bad as it gets... Well, it's not.

Different things get to different people though. As I said earlier, I can watch someone be hacked up to tiny pieces... I mostly find it irritating they need to use extreme gore to make audiences forget that the acting and storyline is crap. But rape scenes? No way. I remember those and I can't get over them. I'm not even a rape victim so it's not some sort of trigger. I also can't handle animal cruelty. Depicted or not, I close my eyes and cover my ears if I know it's coming. I just can't hack it.

I think ratings are suitable. A lot of these films are rated r anyway. Grown adults should be allowed to choose if they want to watch them or not.
It gets worse than human centipede ? and i thought i was hardcore for watching it what your saying about different things get to different people, i very much agree there's a movie called 'mum & dad' that is quite disturbing but i thought it was a good movie overall - didn't really affect me but my brother's gf who watched it with me started bawling & walked out of the room so yeah, good point

"Borderline porn" is still not porn. If its not showing genitalia, explicit footage of actual intercourse and sexual acts, then it's not porn in the erotica sense of the word. It can be considered a strong sex scene but its just not explicit enough to be termed pornography. To say it is filmed in the same was is also incorrect as the actors are simulating a sex act, not performing real ones on film.

You are also ignoring the fact that pornography can hold more than one definition such as I posted earlier. You are focussing on the sexual definition but in the case of torture porn I believe it would be the other definition that is most appropriate, that it is something graphic, explicit and provocative.
I just dont understand how you can agree with slapping porn onto a movie like the saw but then say movies with explicit sex that shows everything but the genitalia not porn is all.

Wasn't a judgment on her views just once again fascinating how humans work.

Personally, I find shows like "two and a half men" extremely offensive and the fact that it was at one time the most popular tv show in Australia far more disturbing than any horror movie I could watch.

Yup thats right I dont believe in one night stands, I dont think people should sleep around what does that have to do with make believe movies?

My feeling for sleeping around are a few:

our bodies are something special I wont just go giving mine around willy nilly Your gonna have to work to get to me, show me that you want me not just my body. I wont be used to please a man who wants nothing more than a one night stand. For me it comes down to respecting myself and my body.

Some people are against porn because it is demoralizing women, to me having sex with randoms is demoralizing, you cant tell me if I slept around with say 20 people that all those 20 people wanted me because I was such a great person, most of them prob would just want to have sex and if it wasnt me it would be some other random, I am not interested in that for myself I want to be wanted, and liked because I am a good person not because I will have sex with someone.

Now I know I offended before but I am not trying to offend just explain my view on sex with randoms, etc and how it relates to me and my mind set.

Between the 7 saw movies and the 2 hostel movies I think there maybe was 3 or 4 naked parts. In one of the saws you do his Jigsaws penis. In one of the Hostels there is a victim that is naked, and then I think a few shots of other naked girls who arnt victims (havent watched the Hostels in some time will rent them this weekend to see.

That goes for all of you BTW not just this member. Just getting a bit annoyed seeing all the implications in this thread.
No need to be offended, its her opinion and she is just a random that knows nothing about the people she speaks of. I dont care if she thinks something is amiss with my husband and I for liking the movies her opinion especially since she hasnt seen the movies from what I can tell hold no water. SHe is free to think what she likes about me.

I have seen both human centipedes unrated and still think they shouldn't be banned. I also think that the second one should be in color.

The term 'torture porn' is a figure of speech. It doesn't have meaning to actual porn other than the idea of people 'getting off' (in a figurative sense) on watching extreme violence - nothing sexual.

    It's figurative not literal.

I understand that part but the thread was about should be label it that as in it will be in a section called torture porn. So I said thats fine but what about the graphic sexual movies should they then be labeled with porn on the end?
