its just entertainment though. Have you ever noticed how people slow down at a car accident and look? Doesnt make them morbid I dont think just curious

For you it's entertainment. For others it isn't and they/I don't understand how you find it entertaining.

    Default Torture Porn?

Disagree. The reason people look at car accidents IS morbid curiosity.
I don't find these sorts of movies entertaining. I don't pretend to understand the appeal. You can say all you like about the intricate plots and story lines, at the end of the day they are made to showcase gratuitous violence and to induce fear and disgust. To go back to the original question, should they be labeled torture porn? By definition, that is what they are (keeping in mind that porn doesn't necessarily mean s3xual porn). It's just a label, after all, and it won't restrict your viewing them if you want to.

    Default Torture Porn?

People slow down at an accident out of concern for another human being.

There actually are people in the world suffering torture and mutilation, it's sad that people in our society like watching it for fun

Ok so what about movies like Not suitable for Children? Its a drama about a guy who has cancer and has 30 days to have a child before he loses the ability. Good movie interesting plot but the ending has full on not covered rough sex in many positions and doesnt leave anything to the imagination should we call movies like that Drama Porn? After all it has actual porn like scenes.

Or what about comedies with sex scenes that are more explicit than just two people under covers? Comedy Porn?

Where do we stop labeling with the porn at the end?

If they really had concern then they wouldnt slow down, cops always tell you not to slow down keep going dont cause traffic and stay out of the way so the people can be saved. I was taught that in drivers ed at age 15 I never slow down at the scene of an accident unless others have and caused a huge rubberneck situation.

I would imagine part of the reason people slow down at an accident is because there is often people on the street and cars/glass or other debris on the road in these situations and people are trying to avoid another accident. Sometimes if it's a busy road it only takes one or two cars to slow down then the rest of the traffic is backed up.

I don't understand watching someone being tortured as entertainment. As CTM said, people in this world are actually suffering under brutal regimes that happily torture, humiliate, deprave etc (eg Taliban, Iran). I don't find watching someone hacking themselves or someone else to death a pleasant past time and I don't understand those that do.

I agree with this. Especially when its just for shock value and not really using it to tell a story. I personally find it disgusting and i just don't know what society has come to when people want to watch that crap.
