    Default Christmas decorations for kids

I'd like to make some with the girls, something different to the usual paper chains or lanterns.
Am going to get them to decorate their own baubles or even bake some decorations they can paint (need a recipe for that too...) but can't think of anything else.
They're to either put on the tree or hang around the living area.

    Subbing...

You could get them to draw or paint on some butchers paper/brown paper and use that to wrap presents.

I made the snowflakes and then let DS paint them afterwards and then hung them up. Looked nice and added some colour to the room decorations
Aside from that I make the paper chains but first I get DS to marble paint plain paper with red and green and then cut that up to make the chains.

    Subbing for more simple ideas.

I got the boys to make a whole heap of edible decorations a couple of years ago.

    - boxes of sultanas wrapped in chrissie paper
    - star and angel cookies
    - popcorn balls
    - musk candy (made with marshmallow fondant)
    - dried fruit decorations (slice thin, cut into shape with cookie cutter, bake on low until dried out)
    - fondant baubles

There's also heaps of decorating ideas online, check out better homes and gardens too.

Oh, I forgot...I also plan on doing a hand print christmas tree on the glass sliding door with DS. Paint a hand green and stamp it out over and over to make the tree shape, then paint the hand yellow and make that the star on top...like this

Oh really! They are awesome, we make them every year and then each kids gets to spray paint one and make it pretty and we keep it (we normally make about 20 a year so we can't keep them all lol)
