Default Things to know when choosing a daycare center

Hi all, just wanting to know what to look for when looking at day care centres? Visiting a few this week and wondered if you could give me some pointers as to what to look for and also maybe a list of questions to ask? None of my friends with kids have their children in day care so no help there! I have no idea what to ask and am visiting the first centre tomorrow!!
Plan on enroling from February next year for 2 days a week, DD will be almost 18 months.

Firstly, go with your feeling of the place. When I put ds1 in his first centre I thought I was just feeling nervous since it was the first time. Turns out it was not the centre for us. 2nd time round couldn't be happier. Everyone there is awesome. As for questions I would ask how many kids in the room your child will be in, what activities they normally do, if they prepare the meals ask for a sample menu, how do the handle tantrums or kids not getting along? Also, something I never thought to ask but my friend did is how easy is it to rearrange days if needed. Hope something in all this helps. Good luck finding the right centre for you and bub :-)

    Hey there

Im not sure what state you are in but there's a website here in QLD that if you click on 'Getting Started' there's lots of fact / tip sheets for you to read that might help you develop a list of questions to ask when visiting centres.

    I hope this helps?

If not the fact sheet/ tip sheet link is:
