If the employer has no rule around it and isn't concerned and the employee chooses to wear a skirt 15cm above their knee (thatceoyld hit mid-thigh for me) then it's no one else's affair.
Id rather work with a competent employee in a shirt skirt than a lazy idiot in a pants suit any day.
This strikes me as the kind of thing that women ***** about each other for in the office tea room.
I wear knee length which I think looks professional. But I guess people are free to wear what they want if it doesn't break company policy.
Knee length is professional, 15cm above knee sounds too short and it's inappropriate in a work environment, customer facing or not, in my opinion.
Many years ago I lived in the red light district of a large city in the UK. I was walking home from the bus stop one day wearing a gorgeous charcoal grey bespoke suit. The skirt was just below my knees, collared shirt, jacket, stocking and court shoes. My hair was neat and I had minimal make up. A car pulled over and asked me how much, he thought I was a "lady of the night". Yup, I could not have looked any more professional and he thought I was a hooker. It was not like it was late at night, it was about 6pm, still daylight.
One person's "hooker" is another person's "fabulous".
It's also kind of insulting that the you keep intimating that the worst thing possible in the world is to "dress like a hooker". Really?
