No - I didn't even know I had them until I had my 12 week scan!

Yes, although I didn't realise the cause at the time. And heavy flow the first few days.

I went for my first dating scan on Saturday and they also found a 7x5x4 cm pedunculated fibroid. I had no symptoms beforehand. Has been great to read about others experiences as well because I am FREAKING out!

Oh, don't freak out! I know you can drive yourself mad with web searches. I have heaps of fibroids and my DS 10 months is absolutely fine. I'm booked in to have them removed in the new year. Best of luck with your pregnancy!

I know this post is a bit old but I'm looking for recommendations for a gynie / surgeon in Melbourne. I'm 29 with a tennis ball sized fibroid (intramural, encroaching on sub mucosal, all the syptoms lol) which I've been recommended to have removed via myomectomy. Too big for keyhole surgery. Also have suspected endometriosis, need to schedule surgery to confirm. I've seen some nice doctors in the public system but I have to seea different one every time so I've paid up for private health and I'm looking to see someone for all of my treatments and possibly births if they're ob too (unlikely I know). Anyone have any recommendations for a sub-fertility / surgery / fibroid specialist around Melbourne? Thanks in advance and also for your stories, they're helping to normalize this situation for me

Jacqueline, I had large fibroids removed by Emma Readman and I was very happy with her. It was an open myomectomy as they were too large for keyhole surgery. It was 10 years ago though. I assume she is still operating.

Oh goodness, Linstyle - I hope they don't give you too much grief this time round. So glad to hear your daughter is doing well. My son was born by c-section at 36 weeks because the fibroids were giving me such pain. He's now 2.5 and a typical toddler terror. Good luck!

So happy to hear about your baby girl Linstyle! Hope your next pregnancy is as drama free as possible. And great to hear about others with fibroids who have had healthy bubbas

I had 3 fibroids with my first pregnancy and thankfully they didn't cause any dramas. However, I suspect they may be causing havoc now as we can't seem to get pregnant and I've been having lots of low down very sharp pains. I have an US in a couple of days to check what's happening with them.
