My last kindle was shipped express from them and arrived in two days.
My biggest annoyance (not their fault!) is the cost of shipping for some of the items...

The 2 day delivery option would be for the US only

I've not ordered at Christmas time, but delivery is usually v prompt. Especially with the express option.

DD goes through ballet tights with alarming regularity and they arrive well within the week with express postage and not much more without it.

Make sure you do express delivery, and i think you have to tick the substances (like this isnt dangerous goods yada yada).. Thats why some things can take weeks!!!

I have used amazon a lot. Usually postage has been pretty prompt - but sometimes at christmas it is slow.

I have also ordered things using www.priceusa.com.au who will order the goods and have them shipped to Australia. You pay a % of the price plus shipping to Aus ... but for some things (like the shoes DH likes) it still works out as way cheaper.

Amazon is the worlds largest online retailer, I think you are safe ordering from them. I generally use Amazon UK rather than the US site but that is just a personal preference. They are very efficient and most things are shipped out within 24 hours, the difficulty is Australia post office which can be very slow at times.
