You can always look to the goddesses for inspiration! I'm not religious at all, but I love mythology - expecially Greek.
We named our daughter Athena Elizabeth (Elizabeth is a middle name that's been in our family for generations.
Even though middle names aren't used every day, it's great to have a more "normal" middle name IMO - that way if the child feels her name is too different, she can use her middle name for every day use instead.

And I do agree that particularly with unusual names it's best to have one that's still somewhat -known- - that way you're less likely to have to spell it out all the time (probably my one regret naming my son "Lochlan" - always have to point out the "o" and people still get it wrong >_<)
