    Default Hamburgers with salad?

    Hello,

Whenever we go out for lunch I ALWAYS get a hamburger.

Since I've been pregnant I've avoided them because I'd heard that Subway should be avoided due to the cold salad, and I assumed that this rule would apply to all cold pre-prepared salad items.

I would LOVE to get a burger from Grill'd today, but I'm not sure whether it's ok or not?

The salad items would be tomato, lettuce, onion, avocado and pineapple.

    Thanks guys

I would have one. I couldn't see why it would be an issue.

I'm certainly not a specialist ... so i'm just working on personal experience here .. how far along are you?? because that can make a big difference too ...

listeria is a risky thing .. but having said that - I ate hamburgers with salad right throughout my pregnancy.

I know that listeria can be on lettuce if it hasn't been washed ... but you'd hope that they would wash the salad items in a decent place like grill'd (and I agree their burgers are awesome!!)

hot food is the best way to go I think .. so if you're craving something junky .. just make sure its toasted/ heated if possible?

I'm wondering now too about their herb mayonnaise..?

I can't imagine that they'd make it fresh, so it should be ok?

It's more of a risk if the salad has been pre chopped and has been sitting in tubs for a while (not always listeria but regular food poisoning). It's best to go somewhere with a high turnover that constantly needs to replenish salads.

In your case I would absolutely eat the burger! I'm sure they don't make the mayo themselves but it doesn't hurt to ask

I thought the risk with mayo isnt the freshness, its with the raw egg in it?

OP I hate alot of Hungry Jacks Whoppers when I was pregnant with DS and we are fine. I know that doesnt give everyone the green light, but it might help?

    Default Hamburgers with salad?

I've eaten grill'd burgers all the way through this pregnancy. Now that you mention it I think I want one!!! I hope you ended up having one. Salad stuff to me was fine.
As for their herb mayo-same stuff you get in little tub with the chips is what they use on the burgers... I asked about raw egg and the guy showed me the ingredients and yes it does have raw egg in it. As much as love it, I don't think they make it fresh/daily so I didn't eat it. But I honestly think it was probably ok.

    Default Hamburgers with salad?

    Just got back from lunch!

    Thoroughly enjoyed my burger!

I did eat the herb mayo though :-/

I guess I'll just hope it's ok this time and avoid it next time.
