    Default iPad or Leappad?

    Thanks!

I actually use my iPad far, far more than my iPhone and am considering just not having a phone (as I use Skype) my work is online so I'm constantly needing to check things on the net. Was considering the iPad mini instead of a new iPhone as I've lost my phone... I guess there's disadvantages to no mobile number though.

Steve jobs said he thought the iPad mini would have too small a screen, does anyone find the loss of screen size a problem?

I don't have a mini yet, but I've played with a couple and I think the size is a great compromise between portability and usability.

You can send and receive text messages with an iPad

Oh great - so you use the SIM card mobile number? I've lost my phone - can I just replace the SIM card and then use my mobile with the iPad?

Not true. Mine is wifi and I text from it. However, you can only message other apple devices and only when in wifi range.
