    Default Babysense Infant Respiratory Monitor

Can anyone tell me if these work under an innerspring mattress? Or can I put it on top of the mattress and pad it with a pillow top mattress protector? Or do you have a better suggestion?

I prefer this to the angel care as it is a registered medical device and the choice of hospitals.

I have one under my dd's matteress, it's def not a foam one, its just one I got with a cot package and could possibly be a love n care one (I don't know if it's an inner spring one.. lol)

The only time it doesn't work is if I have the ceiling fan set on to the second setting - we have tested it on the first setting and it seems to work fine but when we turn the fan up we can take dd out of the cot and it still thinks she is in there breathing away because of the fan blowing air down onto it.

I LOVE our babysense monitor and I got it also because it was closest to the hospital ones. I don't use the sound things that came with it, we use a video monitor & use the sound from that

    Hope that helps

Yes it works under an inner spring, although it does occasionally have a false positive (ie when testing with no baby it has occasionally picked up movement incorrectly). But it is a very sensitive monitor and as pp has mentioned a fan or open window etc can disturb it.
But it is a brilliant monitor- particularly when bub is first home in the bassinet it put my mind at ease quite a lot.

Also my DH got a peice of plywood cut to the size of our cot and we have that on the bottom, then the monitor pads, then the matteress. We did this because on our cot the matteress sits about 1-2 inches above the cot base (it's hard to explain) but basically the matteress rests on the edge of the cot and the centre of the matteress has a gap under it. Our monitor went off twice with my son because he crawled to the edge of the cot and the pads weren't picking him up on there IYKWIM. Anyways we have used the monitor from April 2009 (for close to two years) & are now on our 13th month of using it with DD. best baby purchase ever IMO! Sorry for the long replies

awesome thanks ladies. our mattress is an innerspring and came with the love n care package. at the moment you can get it with the oricom video monitor package so that's my plan. will get MIL onto it, she wants to buy them for me (not complaining).
