Do you mean appointment with your doctor or midwife? Have you seen them yet? This is the 'second trimester' section so typically you would have already had a few appts and scans, so not sure how to answer you sorry!

Ok got it! Well I hope someone else can help you then, as I'm going private so have the same OB or all appointments. I visit him in his office each time.

I imagine it would be similar with a midwife, but they don't have their own offices so work out of hospitals maybe?

Most of the time it's just doing a family history and checking in so to speak. My husband didn't come with my for my first appt with #2 and won't with #3 either, I'd rather save his days off for scans etc

Yeah, it is quite mundane..mine didnt go...but the next one they may use the doppler on you to hear heart beat so he might want to be at that one

I had mine this morning, it think it would have been pretty boring for DF. It was just filling in paperwork really. They talked a bit about what to expect with the next appointments and what to do if I needed to come in for some reason or talk to someone, they talked about breastfeeding and vaccinations etc. All really basic stuff, no real need for your partner to go. They gave me a whole heap of brochures/booklets/information to take home which hubby can have a read of if he wants.

They don't always like your brining someone the first time so you can just open up without worrying about the other person.
