    Default Gushes of liquid .....

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced gushes of liquid after going to the toilet.... Sorry tmi generally after doing a pee.... I'm 38 weeks tom and its been happening since I think yesterday ... Today most definitely its happened bout 5 times.... And a decent gush of liquid too that just feels like its not me going to the toilet.....any info would be great ... I didn't mention it today when I was being monitored but im just curious if anyone has had it happen and what it turned out to be... Thanks...

    I'd probably call your hospy.
Another thing you can do is lay down on your side for about half an hour, let it pool and stand up and see if there's any more gushes.

thanks for the responses....hmm Ill see how it goes and if its still doing it by morning ill give them a call... I was in there for 5 hours today but didn't think much of it except when I had to do a urine sample the pee was clear.....that was the biggest gush today.....I've had my waters break naturally once but it was all together....it seems to happen every couple of hours.... I've also had borderline high bp... Which is why I've been closely monitored.... Pregnancy no 4.... Will keep an eye on it and if it still happening by morning ill call the midwives... From what I could tell there's no smell or color if that means anything...

I'm sorry for your sisters loss but the risk of infection has nothing to do with the waters breaking. It has everything to do with things being introduced to the sterile environment of the vagina. You will not automatically get an infection just because your waters break.

This is what my waters broke like. Small gushes, when I stood up - gush. I had this for hours & hours while in labour. In the end the midwife had to break the sac so that it would stop building up & baby could come down easier.

Everyone has already said this but get it checked at the hospital! At least call the birth suite & talk to them over the phone.
