I used cold sore patches whilst pregnant and my ob told me it was safe to take lysine tablets too

My GP and pharmacist told me I couldn't use any of the medicated creams, all I could use was the patches. One brand was useless, I think it was the Zovirax ones (ridiculously hard to stick onto the sore), whereas Compeed seemed to be a bit more effective.
I have felt like I have one coming up since yesterday so I've been layering on the pawpaw ointment, and so far no blister so I'm hoping I caught it early enough!
Good luck and I hope it goes away very quickly for you, they're such a horrible thing to have :-(

Another thing the someone once told me is if you feel one coming put an ice cube on it till its almost unbearable apparently it kills it. Not sure if it works though.
