I really like the name Ben - with Benji as a nickname as I can't imagine a grown man with the name Benji, it just seems too little a cute for me. But I love Ben.

Louie is great too. I prefer Louie to Benji, but think I probably prefer Ben over Louie! Tough decision!

I like them both. I have a Lewis though, so I'm more biased towards Louie.

If it were me, I would maybe consider putting the full version of the name on the birth certificate, just so they have that option there. Ie. Benjamin and Louis.

Eta. My son is Lewis but no one calls him that. We all call him Lew or Lewie.

Hmmm, as others have pointed out already, I like Ben or Benjamin rather than Benji (Benji could be a nickname). And I prefer the spelling of Louis, but I love the name Lewis (on my short list if we ever have a boy).
