Friends have always been able to tag you, as far as I'm aware? It's always been that way on my Facebook.
I changed the settings so that I have to approve every single tag

You can change your settings so people can't tag you in photos.

Not friends, friends of friends. So someone I'm not friends with was able to tag me.....

I wonder if they physically typed in my name or if facebook used its face recognition to identify the picture as me....

I just think I have 150ish facebook friends and they all have anywhere between 200-1000 friends so that's a lot of people who would be able to tag me in photos etc.....

I have approve tags set, but I just find it odd that even though with the highest privacy settings available switched on, someone that isn't my friend can tag a photo with my name and select which person I am from the myriad of Sarah Jones out there. (Not that my name is Sarah Jones).
