    Hi all,

We welcome Talia Faith into the world at 9.30pm on the 29th of July weighing 8lb 12 (3.98k) at 38w+1.

Labour was a bit traumatic :-( had gels at 8pm, cramped all night, had required epi at 7am which then slipped at 10 so had to labour without pain relief til 5pm only dilating to 4, finally got second epi as blood pressure was sky rocketing, started pushing our little one at 7 but got her wedged (she was posterior) so had a failed theatre trial vaccuum delivery and ended up with a c-section any how!!! So I managed to have vaginal internal tears and a c-sec wound!! Every minute was worth it to look over and see our baby girl though!

Congratulations Hope! Very pleased to hear about your new arrival! Sorry it was such a an experiece though, Hope you have a speedy recovery and keep your pain meds topped up and rest up.

Afm as I mentioned bubs arrived a day earlier than planned, went into labour the day before my booked csection, fortunately my OB was at the hospital and after some delays required doctors and theatre was organised and I had an epi and my csection. I was given the option to go naturally but choose not to. OB commented afterwards that it was the right choice due to some bleeding and unexpectely large bubs. I have had a very good recovery and we are now home. DD is very excited and second baby is a very nice experience as you now know what you want, like etc and can take on board only the advise you like

My advice to the first timers: Enjoy the early days, relax and go with the flow, dont feel pressured about breastfeeding, getting bubs into a routine, etc it will all work out over the next few months as you and bubs get to know each other. Sleep when you can and let hubby pull his part of the load
