I'll make sure to ask! I just assumed it had to do with our dates being relatively spot on but would like to know his reasoning :-)

All good with scan, heart was checked thoroughly and no problems.

I had heard the don't go over with IVF babies with ds. Not sure why but someone told me (not a dr!) that we automatically become high risk and its safer to have the baby delivered at due date. I wasn't complaining though who would want to wait an extra 10 days to see bubs!

    Hi all

I had OB app. on tuesday, it lasted 5 minutes, not even sure if I asked everything I wanted, I have low lying placenta, and he said rescan it at 28 weeks and no sex.He was not fased that my hair falling out or my low blood pressure ( I guess its normal), I asked him maybe Im low in iron, he said I can take it if I want to, or feel tired, but then they call me that the pathology request has been sent to me, so Im guessing to check the iron level?

    Hi Ladies

Jen and Samarasmum - glad your scans went well

Gregiada - sorry your OB appointment was so short. Sometimes they are so busy they have to rush things through. That's good he is following up with an iron test though. Might as well check, especially if you are unsure.

All - I have also been told they don't like IVF bubs going over. My OB said it just brings on more complications and they want to do everything right to make sure nothing goes wrong. And leaving bubbies in too long can cause complications.

Hi to everyone Hope everyone is doing good and that you have found your cots and bits and pieces.

AFM - Had our morph scan this morning and all was perfect so that is great news. Only issue being that bub was measuring 10 days ahead! Eeeek. But OB said that's to be expected given the genetics and wasn't phased. Both hubby and I are VERY tall. So a big bubba was bound to happen....haha. Got some great pics of it's face though which is very cute if I do say so myself And it's still a suprise. We turned away so we couldn't see anything.

Well done Lilystar on the scan, sounds fab and I admire your patience

Great new Jen on all your all clear

I havent heard anything about the early IVF delivery, I have other medical reasons that will ensure bubs arrives early so its not something we'll ever discuss.

Samarasmum, my BP was sticking at 140/110 but its come down a little bit today at my obs visit. Im on tablets twice a day and jits a a watch this space on a weekly basis. My Drs are starting to worry about my constant lack of sleep (av. 5 hours since about week 6) so Ive been prescribed a sedative today. Not sure whether Ill take it but it will nice to have a decent's night sleep so I may give it a try on the weekend.

We've been booked in for a 28 week growth scan on 2nd May to measure size of the bub so the team can make some assessments around delivery. Starting to feel a bit scarily real now that its not long to go.

She is kicking up a storm given half the opportunity so Im assuming that means she is happy to stay put for atleast the next 12 weeks..

    Hi all

Sounds like some good scans coming in and those with issues are getting the help they need so great to hear.

Samarasmum no I have not bothered to get a second opinion but found out why my midwife has not been getting back to me - shes off sick with a bad back. I did get some great advice from one of the midwifes at our first group session that the "consultant" didn't tell me!! - basically i was told if i had any bleeding to go to hospital with a packed bag! Also if its a lot to ring a ambulance. The midwife was horrified at what the consultant recommended and knew what vasa previa was and that with the low lying and marginal cord said it was good i fought for a 28wk scan.

Good luck with the 28wk scan Vivre and I hope you get some sleep soon!

Hope i've heard that they don't let IVF bubs go over and even heard some obs don't allow over 39 wks - I think age is a key factor too, the older the less likely they will let you go over.
