DJ Nette - Great that DH made it to the scan. It's so different for partners I think. It's so nice for them to see for themselves so that it becomes more real.

Lilystar - Don't panic about the symptoms. I still have VERY few and I'm 12 weeks. Only tiredness and some stretching really.

Vivre - Good to hear your energy levels are lifting. Hopefully the nausea will make an exit soon too!

Jen80 - Congrats on 13 weeks! Bring on the second (apparently easier) trimester!

Chances - Well done on your fitness. I've gained 1.5kg at 12 weeks, which is apparently okay. I didn't need to lose any but I do definitely need to get fit. As I live in a small town with no gym I've ordered some exercise DVDs. My cousin specialises in safe women's fitness so she gave me direction on which ones to buy to protect and strengthen pelvic floor muscles while exercising. Your pram deal sounds awesome! That's all too daunting for me yet...

Well I had my 12 week scan with obstetrician this morning and the twins are looking great (and very wriggly). I was SO relieved!! I was a bit disappointed in my ob this morning. He's been great every other time but today he seemed preoccupied and didn't ask me how I was at all. He filled in my paperwork, ordered a blood test that we were missing, did the scan and sent me on my way. No real interaction. It's not usual so I hope it's back to normal next time. I felt disappointed though. It's nice to have the reassuring chat.
So I see him again on 6th February (only 3 weeks but he's doing a clinic closer to my home so it works out well). Yay for the healthy, wriggly twins!!

Hey girls, so much good news its great to read & keep up the good work

Jen, I cant believe its 13 weeks gone already, a Dr said to me today welcome to the 2nd trimester.. its hard to believe. We have made lots of announcements, Im now finding the energy to call/email back but people are very excited for us so its good. It even went ok at work which considering Im on probation with 1 week notice period was very good. Looks like Ill be ok atleast until I want to go on maternity leave so its all good

Chances, Im too scared to stand on the scales as all Ive done this week is eat. Ive started a bit more energy with a little bit more energy but I think walking and swimming will be it for me

Nat, congratulations on the scan. Its so reassuring to see your bub(s) moving around isnt it?

Nat thats a great result - never-mind about ur Ob, must have been an off day and hopefully will pick up be next scan. Good work on the weight control too! I'm still waiting for this PT to call and was at the gym this morn and didn't get a chance to ask the manager if he passed on my details.

Vivre everyone goes at their own pace - i'm feeling great so it makes sense i make the most of it plus i have more motivation with the wedding booked 6 mths after bubs being born! You will get there!

I have lost another 200g since weighing on Saturday so in a whole week thats 800g, which means i've put on 2.2kgs since conceiving 14 wks ago! (i think 1 kg was ivf weight anyway) Much happier at that and can see i'm toning up.

    Hi Ladies

Vivre – Eeeeek, not looking forward to all the med changes. Mine is hashimoto’s and it already went up so quickly as soon as I got pregnant. So I’m on 100mg of thyroxine for two days and then 50mg for one day and then repeat. Hopefully my OB will keep on top of it. How often did they have to put your up until it became steady. I was sitting on 2.5 the other day, so hopefully this brings it back down to 1.6 or less which is what I was just before I fell pregnant. YAY for you being in the second trimester now!!

Jen80 – woooo hoooo. Well done on reaching 13 weeks. Hopefully the second trimester is better than the first and the feeling sick goes away.

Chances – I have been doing nothing lately in the exercise department. First because I was too nervous. Second because I was too tired. Third because it’s been too hot. I also work a looooooong way from home so leave home early and aren’t back home until it’s time to cook dinner (notice all the excuses I am making....haha) Plus I’m on pesseraies twice a day so finding the time has been hard. But I do need to pull my finger out and get back into a routine.

Nat256 – great news that the scan went well and your little twinnies were wriggling around in there. Hopefully your OB was just having an off day and will be better for your next appointment.

    Big hello to everyone else.

AFM – might have spoken to soon…..haha. Have been feeling quesey all afternoon yesterday and again this morning. Hopefully that is a good sign. I just want to fast forward a few weeks to make sure the little bub is doing ok in there. 8+3 today so still 2 weeks until my next scan and OB visit. Hopefully I can get back into the walking and healthy eating between now and then. I need to watch it as I started overweight to begin with (I put on 15 kgs in the last 2 years thanks to IVF and some other things - eeeeeek).

    xx

Default IVF babies due July/August/September 2013

    Hi lillystar

Fully understandable! Ivf is tough enough and when you get that bfp you are just so relieved stuff the exercise lol. Working away from home must be hard too and the extra tiredness etc etc!

Well I think I spoke too soon I'm exhausted but this is more work related been working my butt off and had a meeting this morn with my boss and mentioned how high the wkload has been the last three mths and pointed out he travelled 6 times in the last 2mths - 4 internationally and that caused extra stress to my wkload (doing recruitment for 4mths)- he suggested a time management course! Wdf I have been doing this for 10yrs so really ****ed off. Lucky the manager was also there and kindly offered up other staffs time if I needed it. Wish I could work elsewhere and wish I never declined that job interview.

Hi all, finally starting to feel a little better, so I might even attempt some personals

NAT256 - it's been great to have DH at the scan. I think he often felt left out of all the IVF stuff, so now that he can see something happening it is much better. Perhaps the ob was just having a bad day? I'm sure the next one will be much better. So amazing to see them on the screen!

Vivre - I haven't managed to do any exercise since EPU. I'm hoping the swimming and walking might be something I can manage soon. My council has free aqua aerobics on Saturday mornings, so might try the class out on Saturday.

Lillystar - excuses excuses! Perhaps we could join forces and write a book? I've been too sick, too tired, too busy, too scared, it's too hot, too wet, too late etc etc. Funnily enough though I am still 1kg lighter than I was at EPU. Gee those drugs must have been doing some funny things.

Chances - well done on the exercise regime, sounds fantastic. Sorry that work is crap, it just amazes me how self absorbed some people can be.

AFM - I have never bought anything baby before, I didn't want to jinx it. I was doing a bit of research on the weekend on cloth nappies. Working out what I would like and discovering the expense. I just happened to be browsing gumtree last night and discovered someone selling cloth nappies second hand a few suburbs away. They had used them for one week before discovering the baby was allergic to the bamboo lining. So I have just picked up 35 nappies in excellent condition for only $200. I reckon I've saved about $400-500 dollars .

Well might get back to watching some tennis. That should be enough exercise for the day.

    Best wishes to everyone.

    Hi ladies!

chances - congrats on entering second trimester. Best 3 months ahead. Very exciting about the wedding plans.

jen80 - great to hear about your scan results. Congrats on entering second trimester. Best 3 months ahead for you too.

Vivre - headaches suck, had them with DD but havent really had any this time around. Congrats on the scan results and making second trimester - things should start to improve now.

Hope - the nausea goes away soon

Lillystar - hope things go well with your meds and that they can keep levels under control

NAT256 - great to hear the twinnies are doing well. Never mind the OB they might have had a very long shift and be a bit out of it. I know mine worked for like 36 hours straight after delivering my DD - luckily I was the first (for c section) and last (for day 2 visit) on his shift

DJ Nette - good bargain with the cloth nappies and good on you for doing cloth. I could never be bothered, way to much effort for me

    welcome to the new ladies

hi and best wishes to everyone I have missed

AFM - had my first OB appointment on Monday. Got to see bubs on the scan but it was reassuring but very blurry pic. Bubs was measuring correctly and actually a little ahead. Had discussions about the NT scan, my OB is not really in favour of it. I didnt do it with DD. Have decided I will go this time just because I want to see bubs, may ask OB to not give me the results. Have booked it in for Monday arvo.

Oh and OB decided that we should stick with the original 3 Aug due date... so now it is back to the 3rd again.

As for exercise, well I have gotten as far as thinking about it. My PT just got back from overseas travels so I have tentatively booked in a session for Sat. Scared that it will be too much considering how unfit I am. Weight wise it has been going better than expected though, put a bit on over xmas but it has dropped off again, so currently no gain since start of cycle.

I had my my appointment yesterday and didn't get a good picture becure bub was upside down. Bub is measuring well and I asked about my results and they still hadn't arrived. I ended up getting a phone message later on to say my results are in and they are fine.
