Ha ha! My son has autism too and once when out shopping we saw a very pregnant lady all in black and he shouts " fat controller " at her!!

But on a serious note shopping sucks with kids full stop ! The supermarket is set up for kids to freak ! Our local has a big table full of toys to buy in the veg section all of a sudden and there are sweets and toys at the check out ....

If a kid is screaming at the supermarket and somehow it's not one of mine I try to give a supportive smile ... No one wants comments.

Shop online if you can xx

Thanks for the support ladies. It was a crappy day. Turns out my dd has an ear infection so that explains it all. It's giving her really bad nappies and a nappy rash. Poor thing.
I think i kept my calm very well.
Yes it would have ben so nice of someone to offer to unload a few things for me, or distract dd but nope! oh well
Thanks again. DH usually does the weekly shop - he just forgot a bunch of stuff this week!

My mother says things like "Gee, I remember what those tantrums were like when my kids were that age!". Something light hearted and supportive, so the mum doesn't feel judged and knows that others understand what she's going through. I plan on doing the same sort of thing in those situations.

I got a taste of what young or young looking parents must get when I would hold my much younger sister in public. The scowls from little old ladies!

I was having a great day with ds the other day, sat my phone down to chase him and didn't realise, came back to look for it and he refused to walk, layed on the ground and all.

I'm hissing get up! Jesus get up! GET UP i NEED to look! I AM OVER THIS! Get up! If you weren't being silly we would be with daddy right now! Get.up that is it GET UP I HAVE HAD ENOUGH.

Thinking oh man someone here is going to call docs when a lady just goes oh don't you love it when they do that lol,

Thankfully i said yeah he's cranky.and i sat my phone down to chase him before and lost it.

She had handed it in lol.

Before kids i do admit i would *think* jesus christ shut that kid up or take it home, seriously a supermarket is no place for a screaming kid (never said it outloud though)

Now.I'm the one with the screaming kid.going oh, you want to lay on the floor and scream NO MUMMY DO NOT at me .. hmm well that's fine, don't mind me.i'll just keep browsing this aisle lol.

    I never say anything though

Eta when ds first started tt ing i ducked out with nothing and ds pee'd his pants and shoes,
    He was also dirty,
I took him in anyway and walking in (carrying him) these old ladies were giving me the filthiest looks :l.

Today he went shopping in a dinosaur dress up, it was simply not.worth the screaming match to remove.it
