Default Is it a-hole day today?

I wish strangers would just mind their business.
I had to do a quick grocery shop this morning, dd was not in her best mood, refused brekky because possibly teething again. She did sit there patiently pretty much thru the whole supermarket but the final 2 isles and at the checkout - she cracked it big time.
When she is like this, i know it is best for both of us to stay calm, reassure her, keep her seated ect. I know that if i get her out of the trolley she wont go back in and therefore, being 34 weeks pregnant whilst unloading the trolley holding a 21mth old at the chekout is pretty much impossible.
So there was a line behind me - about 3-4 ppl. Not my problem! but they were all staring at me and my daughter throwing a hissy fit. I was talking to her the whole time, saying "almost done, honey. Going home really soon....i know you're upset, im going as fast as i an....."

I had the checkout lady comment "Oh its not even mid-day, going to be a long day, isnt it..."
The lady behind me say "You are really tired arent you little one, you need a big sleep, not be out shopping!!!..."
A lady talking to her own child saying "look at that little bub, so tired she's crying about it, you dont have to worry about that do you? you've had a sleep!..."

....OH REALLY? YOU DONT SAY? LET ME JUST DROP EVERYTHING RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW AND TAKE HER HOME FOR A SLEEP BECAUSE IT SOUNDS LIKE THAT IS WHAT IM MENT TO DO TO SHUT YOU ALL UP. IN AN IDEAL WORLD, SHE WOULDNT BE TIRED OR CRYING...EVER AND I COULD NICK IN AND OUT OF HERE AS FREE AS A BIRD. BUT GUESS WHAT, IM NOT PERFECT AND NEITHER IS MY DD. WE ARE PRETTY FRUCKING NORMAL IMO, SO MIND YOUR STUPID BUSINESS! ....
i didnt say this of course, but it's what i was thinking while i got these comments.
The other ppl in the line behind me just stared at us like big stupid dummies.

What has this world come to when it's a bit of entertainment for their day to comment on a toddler's crying in a dumb supermarket.
Why stare? Mind your own boring business.
While dd was crying in the isles, i couldnt even stop along the SIDE of the isle to grab her drink...beause stupid people ACTUALLY SLAMMED INTO ME!!!!!!!!!!! OLDER ppl, mum's...ppl who should know better. I couldnt believe it.

    It must be A-hole day.

I'm sorry you're having such a bad day.

I do think most of the comments you got were not said in a malicious way... I think the situation just stressed you out so you took it much worse than was intended.

As for them staring... It's kind of impossible not to notice when you're in a line and someone in front of you is doing something like that. I would have probably stared just because it was right in front of me. Don't take it as criticism though.

Hope the rest of the day goes better.

Sorry to hear that. Couldn't any of them offered to help though. This is what annoys me, people are always quick to comment but can't be arsed to give you a quick hand.

    I totally agree.

First thing I would have done is offered to help.

i hear ya. My baby was such a screamer in the pram and I was so over people telling me hes hungry!! this could be just after he fed. I said to one lady down the street that he just fed and she told me he sounded like he was still hungry.

Obviously strangers know your child better than you do.... not

Do you have online shopping in your area? Maybe that would be better next time. I can't even go shopping with my 3 yo. I couldn't image doing it heavily pregnant with a toddler. What a trouper!

    Hope your day gets better.
