I used to get really stuck too, so now I get "experience" type gifts rather than stuff.

SIL was really rough with her car and she was always breaking down so we got her a voucher for a "Car Care for Women" workshop from Red Balloon. We thought it was funny, her, not so much.

Red Balloon, Freeman X etc, has lots of stuff but for your budget I would look at Groupon or Scoopon, or any one of the billion deals websites. They have great stuff, like dinners for 2, high tea, degustation menus etc easily under $50.

Even hair and beauty packages. I got a cut, foils and blow dry for $49 from my usual hairdresser off one of those sites.

Let us know how you go!

Some great cheap presents I always get as an addition are photos of the kids. We get Santa photos and other nice ones (some professional, some not) and buy some nice frames. We do updated ones each year and they're a hit.

I was given a $50 voucher for a deluxe hand manicure this year for my birthday. It was fantastic! It included a hand massage and the whole thing was lovely and relaxing, highly recommended!
